La Femme Female Poser Figure[edit]

Does somebody know where you find that Poser Figure? Karanta released a whole lot of fit morphs for her. I even downloaded one of those to take a look at the readme - no explanation for how to get her ... I added the links to the existing pages, but one is new and I don't know whether I should add a category for a figure that doesn't have a page and about which I don't know anything.

Nia Dress - La Femme Fit Morph

Kerya (talk) 09:20, 28 January 2019 (UTC)

No idea, myself. Are we sure "La Femme" is a separate figure? (I've seen EvilInnocence release fits for morphs in the past.) For that matter, might Karanta be speaking French there, and this is for The Girl (whichever version)? --Robkelk (talk) 13:39, 28 January 2019 (UTC)
I contacted Karanta - it's a new figure that is going to show up today at Renderosity ... Kerya (talk) 08:46, 29 January 2019 (UTC)
OK, she is out now and I created a page for her. As I don't have Poser 11, I am not interested ... but for those that are: at the moment you can get her for free as long as you have something else for a minimum of 3.50 $ in your cart. Kerya (talk) 06:28, 30 January 2019 (UTC)

Probably Cosplay - but what?[edit]

This one looks like it is some Cosplay wardrobe, but I can't identify it and the hints in the text of the description are not enough for me:

Forgiver for Genesis 8 Female - 100% FREE
This bundle comes with everything you see in the promos! Rigged coat! Rigged hair! Rigged wings! Rigged staff! Rigged blaster! Pants! (optional) Snap-to presets for the Blaster and Staff! Hand poses for that perfect grip!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the included readme! It includes EXTREMELY important information on how to use this product effectively!

I have 2 escaped pages that need deleting[edit]

This Free 3D Universe figures without addons page is no longer needed, can you delete it please. All the information is now on the figures page and again on the Freebies hosted at 3D Universe page. Thank you! This Deco, Decoco, and Maybe page was used for disambiguation ----

This disambiguation page lists articles associated with the same title. If an internal link led you here, you may wish to change the link to point directly to the intended article.
but I can't see the need for it anymore. Do we delete or keep? I probably put it in your warning list of unassigned pages because of what I did to the figures page.

--Dollygirl (talk) 20:53, 16 May 2019 (UTC)--Dollygirl (talk) 20:24, 16 May 2019 (UTC)

I'm reluctant to delete pages, since somebody might be linking to them. We can use them as disambiguation pages for people who find them with Google searches. --Robkelk (talk) 12:48, 17 May 2019 (UTC)
Good reason for keeping.--Dollygirl (talk) 13:52, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

I messed up on a license template need deleting[edit]

I messed up the name of the page Template:SmithMirco, so I made a new template page SmithMirco-license but I see now that I have really messed up the spelling. Sorry can you fix it for me, pretty please. --Dollygirl (talk) 18:42, 17 May 2019 (UTC)

It took me this long to see what the typo was... :) I've moved "Template:SmithMirco-license" to "Template:SmithMicro-license" and left a redirect so the existing links still work. --Robkelk (talk) 16:48, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

I DID IT!!![edit]

AnimalsGallery-Birds I worked out the way to have a gallery page that has a direct link to a model page for each and every image on the gallery page. You can see a sample on the AnimalsGallery-Birds page. Isn't it pretty. 3dOutlaw had broached the subject last year or the year before. He left some examples in his sandbox but I was never happy with the table format and I really liked the way the stores presented you with a picture gallery of the things they had to offer. So that is what I set out to do. Could I do something similar. The answer is yes but it took me a few years but I think I have done something that will work. Please everyone check it out and see what you think. I loved to hear about improvements. --Dollygirl (talk) 04:22, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

Pretty!!! I like it very much. Is there any chance to have all of them alphabetical? Kerya (talk) 05:05, 20 May 2019 (UTC)
Thank you. I think it is pretty too. I changed the sort method so they should now be in alphabetical order.--Dollygirl (talk) 13:35, 20 May 2019 (UTC)

We need to have another Image Creation Party[edit]

We need images. Thousands of them. Which means we need another Image Creation Party.

But I can't start one right now - my summer vacation this year is the first week in July, so I'd be away during the all-important end of the party if it starts now.

Somebody remind me about this in a month, please...

--Robkelk (talk) 16:23, 9 June 2019 (UTC)

How do I change a template?[edit]

The link in the license template for Qraffx Qraffx license should be changed to I just don't know how to do that. Sorry! Kerya (talk) 12:27, 23 June 2019 (UTC)

If you need to edit a license template (or any other template), type "Template:" followed by the template name in the Search box in the upper-right corner of a wiki page - in this case, Template:Qraffx-license - and you'll get the template in the search results. Select the template from there and you'll get the template's page, which you can edit normally.
You'll see some special code in many templates: "includeonly" and "noinclude" sections, which contain things that are only included on pages where the template is used and things that are not included on pages where the template is used, respectively.
I've edited this template already. Thanks for letting me know it needed to be updated.
(Some templates are protected so that only administrators can edit them, because breaking them would break hundreds of pages... but you have administrator rights. <smile>) --Robkelk (talk) 14:22, 23 June 2019 (UTC)
Thank you very much! Kerya (talk) 04:27, 24 June 2019 (UTC)

It looks like we may loose the main site for Antonia[edit]

I was reading the Hivewire forums and it looks like Fairy L?? says she will no longer be able to support the site. I checked the wayback machine and there is nothing there. I know that other sites have her but not all versions of her. So if you are interested you might want to download what you want from the site before she closes it. --Dollygirl (talk) 14:05, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

We should get the pages into the Wayback Machine, too. --Robkelk (talk) 22:41, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

NEW! Pictures on page title lines[edit]

We've all seen the "padlock" icons on Wikipedia, showing that a page is partially protected. I've been able to get the code for that, and there is now a picture of my usual avatar on my sandbox page. (I put Dollygirl's avatar on her sandbox page, too. Hope you don't mind.)

Nope not at all.--Dollygirl (talk) 03:29, 30 June 2019 (UTC)

What I want to use this for is showing what resources are Poser-only or Daz-only. The trouble is, my image-making skills are somewhat lacking for an image size of 32 pixels by 32 pixels. (And that's larger than the Wikipedia padlock images, too.) Thus, the only resource pages that have the icons so far are Poser and Daz Studio 4 Pro.

Does anybody know whether we can legally use the Poser man or the Daz face on this wiki? If we can't, then we'll need to make something ourselves.

--Robkelk (talk) 22:39, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

Yay! The Poser man is usable under the same license as this wiki, so we can use it! And now we do. Now to look for the Daz face... --Robkelk (talk) 23:18, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
And now pages that use the PoserOnly template are listed at Category:Poser Only. Instructions on how to use the template are given there. And... that's as far as I'm taking this project before my vacation. If folks could add the PoserOnly template to pages that should have it but don't, I'd appreciate it. If folks could find or create a Daz logo for the DSOnly template, that would be even more appreciated. --Robkelk (talk) 23:45, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
There is now a Daz logo on the DSOnly template and a matching Category:Daz Studio Only. I've started to apply the template to Wilmap's pages. --Robkelk (talk) 14:38, 4 August 2019 (UTC)

What kind of wardrobe is this?[edit]

Vacation time[edit]

For me, at least. I have a six-hour train trip tomorrow, then most of a week with a slow Internet connection, then another six-hour train trip. I might touch base some time during the week, but I don't know whether that'll be feasible.

When I'm back, we'll do another image rendering party. Does anybody have any ideas for a theme this time around?

--Robkelk (talk) 20:02, 1 July 2019 (UTC)

Have a great vaca!!. Victoria 4 would be a good one. Theme could be Where's the Love (for V4)? I say we promote the contest on DAZ and Rendo and see how it goes. With two gift cards we could give out two prizes. Or make it one big prize and watch the frenzie ;>.
Have fun! What about a "Free for all" - giving the link to ? Kerya (talk) 04:22, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
Thanks! I picked up a $50 gift card at Daz when they were on sale when 4.11 came out; that should get some interest even if nobody buys a smaller card from Renderosity. We featured V4 last year, but we could do "Where's the love (for non-Genesis)?" and mention La Femme, Rex, Roxie, and the other Poser-only figures when we announce on Rendo. (And now I have to pack...) --Robkelk (talk) 11:08, 2 July 2019 (UTC)
make it a good vacation (and stay safe). No preference for the render party though....--Glaseye (talk) 19:03, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

Image Creation Party - 2019[edit]

I'm back from vacation, and ready to start this... Shall we make the announcements on Saturday?

Let's go with "Where is the love for the others?" That way, we can mention the older figures on the Daz forums and the Poser and Hivewire figures everywhere else.

I have a Daz GC to toss into the pot.

--Robkelk (talk) 11:39, 9 July 2019 (UTC)

Sounds good. I have a second 25 dollar gift card to add to the pot. Because yours and mine are different denominations should we have two categories, ie ways of winning them? Say one for the most uploads and one for just uploading an image? --Dollygirl (talk) 15:33, 9 July 2019 (UTC)
Let's just do two random picks. If we start putting conditions on this, then it runs the risk of becoming a contest, and then I'd have to get a government permit... --Robkelk (talk) 11:48, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
Works for me --Dollygirl (talk) 22:16, 11 July 2019 (UTC)
Aargh - things got hectic in my life this week, and I have relatives coming in from out of town today. Kerya, could I impose on you to make the initial announcements, please? Daz, Rendo, Hivewire, Fantasies Attic (since they're good to us every year), any place else you think it's appropriate. --Robkelk (talk) 12:27, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
I will help you Keyra any way you want me to.--Dollygirl (talk) 15:26, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
Dollygirl: yes, please! My private life is very hectic at the moment, my nerves are a bit frazzled ...
adding new things to the wiki is repetitive and calming, creating threads on all forums and watching them, not so much
I looked for the old threads, but was only able to find the one at Fantasies Attic:
and the sandbox
Kerya (talk) 04:25, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
Not a problem Kerya I can help. Will start to work on it today. Thanks for the research.--Dollygirl (talk) 15:56, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
So I did a draft of the Party page Image Creation Party 2019 which led me to make a page which identifies what figures User:Dollygirl/sandbox/image creation party pictures We also need to edit the MediaWiki:Sitenotice page. Since there are some questions like start date, finish date, defining of the gifts that I am not sure of, I think I have gone as far as I can until these issues have been resolved. Once we get the site ready then I will draft the messages that we want to have for DAZ, Hivewire, Rendo and Fantasiesattic. That okay?--Dollygirl (talk) 22:46, 18 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you! Sorry for not being able to answer your questions about dates and gifts ... Kerya (talk) 04:03, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Thank you both for the help here. I've edited the Sitenotice, and picked September 1 (the day before Labo(u)r Day in North America) as the ending date. We can start... now! --Robkelk (talk) 11:37, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Not sure if it is intentional, but I only get to see the MediaWiki:Sitenotice when I'm logged in... --Glaseye (talk) 13:44, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
I have put the notice up on [|DAZ] [|Rendo] [|Fantasies Attic] I can't seem to get the announcement to take on the Hivewire forms. Any suggestions. I am logged in but it says there is a problem try later. --Dollygirl (talk) 16:31, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
okay Rendo sent this e-mail to me: "DollyGirl, Your forum post has been removed because we are not sure the intent and it is not something we host here on Please let us know your intent and affiliation." I have provided them with what details I have. At the end of my response I told them they could contact you Rob with any other questions. Hope that is okay. --Dollygirl (talk) 19:36, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Divamakeup contacted me on DAZ to say that she just signed up for access to the site. Also Rendo replied to my e-mail. The moderator is sending the issue up the food chain and letting management make the decision about letting our announcement be on their site. I know we meet the requirement that no commercial activity can be done by the linked site but because we have everybody listed they may decide that we are still providing a window of competition they do not want to see. --Dollygirl (talk) 21:06, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Still nothing from Rendo. I will reach out to the moderator to see what is happening. --Dollygirl (talk) 15:09, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
I tried to start a thread at Hivewire - no fun. I contacted one of the admins about it - let's see what her answer is (being in a different time zone makes for a lot of waiting time ...) Kerya (talk) 07:53, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
Hivewire thread is here! Kerya (talk) 05:35, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
Happy dance!--Dollygirl (talk) 15:05, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
Half a week and we're already up to 50 images! I like that kind of enthusiasm! So... I'm tossing another $25 gift card into the pot. --Robkelk (talk) 23:22, 23 July 2019 (UTC)
That is so nice of you! I am going edit my message at Hivewire ... Kerya (talk) 05:43, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
No edits possible - so I am just going to add another message to that thread. Kerya (talk) 05:46, 24 July 2019 (UTC)
Eight days in, and 139 good images have been uploaded by 10 different artists. (And one by me for wiki maintenance, but I didn't render that one so it doesn't count.) If we can maintain this pace, almost one-tenth of the pages that needed images last week will have images -- which I think is very impressive! --Robkelk (talk) 00:27, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
indeed impresive... I think there are 2 images that need to be removed from your list (M4_piety_250pix.jpg + Charity_V4_250px.jpg)as the fullsize versions are also in the list. IIRC these smaller ones were added because of some troubles with the upload... --Glaseye (talk) 11:34, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
Thanks - I'll do the cleanup. --Robkelk (talk) 14:01, 28 July 2019 (UTC)
LoL, Hayden-2.0_V4.jpg is uploaded by GafftheHorse, not me. I only reverted it to the fullsize image.....--Glaseye (talk) 14:38, 28 July 2019 (UTC)

GafftheHorse has chosen a Renderosity gift card. I've asked Dollygirl by email to send him the one that she so kindly donated. --Robkelk (talk) 18:44, 1 September 2019 (UTC)

I fixed the wiki logo! --Robkelk (talk) 15:24, 20 July 2019 (UTC)

And maybe broke the site message? I get no link to the Creation Party page. --Dollygirl (talk) 15:34, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
It's Backkkkk!--Dollygirl (talk) 15:38, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
I turned it off and back on again :) --Robkelk (talk) 15:39, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
I am noticing that the template for images usage rights is not working. Do you know why? get a template:center image on the page. See: this is not the only ones Divamakeup file uploads have the same wiki stuff but when you go into edit the correct template is called. --Dollygirl (talk) 16:49, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
That is ... odd. I'll have to look into it. For now, keep using the broken template. --Robkelk (talk) 19:28, 20 July 2019 (UTC)
Help! I think other templates are broken too, see:

Me again - even pages that are here are shown as red (as in not existing): is showing cookie safari in red, but the page exists:
Kerya (talk) 08:19, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
OK - I found the answer to the red links: The page is Cookie safari (with a capital C), the link is lower case c - cookie safari. Fixed that one, but the whole broking thing I can't fix. Kerya (talk) 08:38, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
The first letter (only) being upper-case or lower-case should not have been an issue. Looks like I need to fix things right now. --Robkelk (talk) 13:13, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
Everything's fixed... and it was my fault. "Oh, look - new feature that will let us have pages that start with a lower-case letter!" turn it on, and break every link and template that already started with a lower-case letter. It's off now, and everything should be working properly - if you find a page that still looks odd, select "Purge" under "More" at the top of the page (to purge the saved-page cache). If that doesn't fix it, let me know. Sorry about that. --Robkelk (talk) 13:33, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
Oh, new and shiny feature! LOL Thank you so much for fixing it! Kerya (talk) 04:15, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
And the "Purge" works! The Props page still looked off, purging fixed it! Kerya (talk) 04:39, 22 July 2019 (UTC)

My apologies for being scarce for the last few days[edit]

Not a good reason this time - a friend is in the hospital. He's getting better. --Robkelk (talk) 12:14, 6 August 2019 (UTC)

Ouch. I hope he gets better fast! Kerya (talk) 06:31, 7 August 2019 (UTC)

My condolences Rob --Dollygirl (talk) 14:54, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

Probably Cosplay or Famous[edit]

Bunny for Genesis 8 Female or (Not Safe For Work - may contain full nudity or intercourse - if you are using a shared computer, do not follow this link!)

Any ideas who this is? Kerya (talk) 06:53, 15 August 2019 (UTC)

Delete a Category[edit]

Could someone delete this page and category please: (talk) 21:38, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

I can't. There is no "Delete" option in the dropdown menu for "More" on the Category page - for me anyway. Maybe Rob is able to do that. Kerya (talk) 04:21, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Sad news about a freebie site[edit]

So Planit3D is gone for good. I updated the freebie site page but have not updated any related links except for the V1-2 stuff.--Dollygirl (talk) 22:47, 20 August 2019 (UTC)

Sniff! OK, there are 62 links to Planit3D here:
I am going to do the "Unavailable" thing for those or find archived pages. Kerya (talk) 04:29, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
Done Kerya (talk) 07:04, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
Cool, thank you Kerya for fixing the links and for sharing the how to get the list.--Dollygirl (talk) 08:19, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
No problem - I found how to search for mentions of a link/page somewhen and saved it to my sandbox. Speaking of sandboxes: thanks for the link in your sandbox to that test for language levels. According to that test, I am level 5, which I doubt very much. LOL Kerya (talk) 10:48, 21 August 2019 (UTC)

Teknology3D did it again[edit]

Redesigned their website and moved to a new server - all links are broken again. Sigh! I corrected those that moved to the new site and am going to add the really new ones, but I am getting tired of that and I am tempted to just add their page to the Limited-Time Freebies. Kerya (talk) 08:34, 25 August 2019 (UTC)

What fun is that, Kerya ;). But I agree after going through the broken list it is no fun to go back and correct those links again.--Dollygirl (talk) 19:18, 25 August 2019 (UTC)[edit] Looks like it is gone ... you get that page, but every link leads to 404 error page. Sigh! Kerya (talk) 09:03, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Well at least it is not completely gone. I did a search on wayback things are there but I just cleaned out the dead link category yesterday. Boohoo!--Dollygirl (talk) 17:20, 10 September 2019 (UTC)

Possible wiki troubles[edit]

I hate having to make this kind of post... There's a possibility that, because of some behind-the-scenes issues at the wiki host, the servers might get turned off for a while. I've made a copy of the text of the wiki as it was just before I made this post - just in case.

However, I don't have any of the images with that copy, just the text. Does anybody have time to download every image on the wiki? Here's a list.

--Robkelk (talk) 17:54, 1 December 2019 (UTC)

=== I have downloaded the wiki file list with included thumb images. Not the full sizes of the images but at least the thumbs if things go south. --Dollygirl (talk) 04:04, 2 December 2019 (UTC)

Thank you for the warning - I am making a text file for the edits since your copy. Sorry, no time for downloading the images. Kerya (talk) 05:35, 2 December 2019 (UTC)

Where to put that one?[edit]

Summoner's Lightning-Spirit
It looks like we need a "Fantasy Monsters" page... but I won't have time to make one until after Christmas. --Robkelk (talk) 14:34, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
We do have a "Fantasy Monsters" page , but I am not sure it is an animal? a robot? a whatsit? I don't even know where it comes from, the Cosplay tagging is from Summoner's description. I could put it under "Miscellaneous" ... Kerya (talk) 08:34, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
I would put it under Fantasy Monsters Non-humanoid Aliens. Even though Summoner says Poser Fan Art I can't find a reference picture to the little guy so maybe "cosplay" is not in order.--Dollygirl (talk) 12:54, 21 December 2019 (UTC)
Most of his creations are from games or films ... I would be careful, as I really not up to date concerning games or films Kerya (talk) 08:16, 22 December 2019 (UTC)

AprilYSH's has updated her store - New Freebies[edit]

AprilYSH has made some changes to her store and there are some old pay-for items that are now free. I have not checked all of our links for her to make sure things are still where we have identified them.--Dollygirl (talk) 00:54, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
Oh squeeee! More free hair! Thanks for the heads up! Off to add those. Kerya (talk) 09:01, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
Adding - she did make sure the old links are still working, very nice of her! Kerya (talk) 10:02, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

Summoner again - where to put it?[edit]

Summoner's Animos

Kerya (talk) 06:54, 28 January 2020 (UTC)

I would put it here SF Resources/generic --Dollygirl (talk) 13:22, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
I want to say I've seen it somewhere, but I don't know where... I'll ask around. --Robkelk (talk) 13:35, 28 January 2020 (UTC)
Not generic - it goes on the video games page. This is "The Great Harbour Ship of Bentus", from Homeworld 2. --Robkelk (talk) 00:51, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! Most of Summoner's creations really are Cosplay resources, but as a nongaming person, I often don't know where to put them. Sorry. Kerya (talk) 05:42, 30 January 2020 (UTC)

Using this topic again ...

Summoner's Royal-Memories
set comes with a Throne, a Sword, a Shield, a Helmet and a chest Plate

Kerya (talk) 07:50, 19 February 2020 (UTC)

Again, I want to say I've seen it somewhere... maybe from a comic book? Maybe from a game? --Robkelk (talk) 13:54, 19 February 2020 (UTC)
The helmet and teh shield looks like the ones from the Athena statue that was in teh Parthenon (known only for copies as the original was lost). The sword, teh plate and the throne... no idea, but given taht share a similar style, they probably are from some version of Athena in a videogame (it's not the God of War series, I checked).AntonioCC (talk) 11:53, 22 February 2020 (UTC)

Guy91600 user page[edit]

Guy91600 made a page for their site location called Guy91600 before Rob made their user page. I put the information from Guy91600 on to User:Guy91600. So I think the Guy91600 can be deleted. Can someone please do so. --Dollygirl (talk) 16:59, 25 April 2020 (UTC)

Done ... Thank you! Kerya (talk) 05:47, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
Instead of deleting, I've turned it into a redirect to his category page (and copied the information there, too). That way people can still find it. --Robkelk (talk) 12:29, 26 April 2020 (UTC)
Thank you. Now what should we do with ironman13? --Dollygirl (talk) 15:31, 26 April 2020 (UTC)

Update the link to Poser[edit]

Just wondering if there's a way to update the link to Poser on the main page? It still links to the Smith Micro site, which (for now) does redirect to "". However, that could change at any time (right now, Smith Micro is just doing this as a courtesy). Would it be better to just link directly to Note: I don't recommend using https as the prefix, as they don't have an SSL for that site and it will generate warnings (they don't need an SSL for that site), so the http will work just fine).

Thank you for the heads up - I changed it to - because that works fine. We changed it on the Poser page, but forgot about the main page. Kerya (talk) 07:12, 10 May 2020 (UTC)

Render Challenge for 2020[edit]

It's getting close to the usual Render Challenge time of year. Would "Get out and play" be a good theme, or would that be in poor taste considering many if not most of us have been self-isolating for months? --Robkelk (talk) 16:37, 12 June 2020 (UTC)

"Get out and play virtually" ... maybe? Kerya (talk) 07:21, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
Sounds good to me.
Let's do this for the entire month of July. I'll toss a couple of $25 GCs into the pot for the random draw. --Robkelk (talk) 15:30, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
Works for me--Dollygirl (talk) 16:38, 13 June 2020 (UTC)

Lucky me - just picked up a $25 Daz gift card in a flash sale. So that's one GC for the render party.

Very busy with work right now. Could I trouble folks to post the announcement this year at the usual places, please?

The Poser and Daz Free Resources Wiki is having our annual Render Party throughout the month of July!
This year, the theme is "Get out and play virtually" - show off the free scenes, the free sports and games props, the free camping gear, the free sports cars, the free summer outfits, and anything else that gets the characters in your runtime out of the house and into the sun! You don't need to follow the theme, but you do need to feature free items in your renders.
As always, we'll be putting the names of everybody who takes part into a random draw, and give gift cards or gift certificates to a few lucky people. We'll draw at least two names, maybe more - the lucky participants will get to choose which online 3D-resource store they get a GC for.
The Render Party starts on July 1, and ends on July 31. Have fun playing!

--Robkelk (talk) 01:59, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

Could we get a page like last year with the FAQ and so on?
I am willing to start a thread at Hivewire again (I remember the hassle last year ...)Kerya (talk) 05:15, 23 June 2020 (UTC)
Should we add "For legal reasons, this is not a contest." like last year after the "the lucky participants will get to choose which online 3D-resource store they get a GC for."?

Kerya (talk) 05:15, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

I'll make a page before the end of this week. And we should put the legal line in, yes - thanks for reminding me! -Robkelk (talk) 11:15, 23 June 2020 (UTC)

The page is up! --Robkelk (talk) 14:28, 28 June 2020 (UTC)

Here's a gallery. The image titles need some work, though... :) --Robkelk (talk) 13:04, 4 July 2020 (UTC)

The image titles need some work, though[edit]

So I did some research and found that {{Special:NewFiles}} Can list all of the images starting with the most current to the first image added. There is an example of using the call here. This function can be transcluded but the wiki's documentation is not very informative. It only gives the limiting number option. Since you can go to the Gallery of New Files and put in a date I am thinking that there is the option to list files from a startdate to now. I tried to get an answer but not from this wiki. They told me to talk to Miraheze but I don't know where the forums are. Can you help me figure this out. Please?--Dollygirl (talk) 16:27, 5 July 2020 (UTC)

maybe this? {{Special:NewFiles/100|start=2020-07-01}} see my sandbox [1] --Glaseye (talk) 20:15, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
Oh my! Sweeeeeeeeeet Sir! So where did you find the format for the transclusion? This inquiring mind really really wants to know. Thank you. So Rob Glaseye just made your life a bit easier. Think you are going to use it???--Dollygirl (talk) 21:23, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
LoL, trial and error. I loaded the 'newfiles' page, filled the date and took a look at the page url parameters. copied the date part from it. (The nr 100 is obviously the max nr of files shown and could be omitted...) --Glaseye (talk) 21:29, 5 July 2020 (UTC)
So with your so excellent help I have created in my Sandbox a list of files that were uploaded between July 24 2019 and September 1 2019. Who's the clever girl, uh, uh? says the woman talking to her doggie after performing a new trick. I need to figure out how to look at the url parameters on a page. That is the real trick but that is for another day. Thanks again for helping.--Dollygirl (talk) 05:32, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
Your welcome. Woof, wooof... LoL (BTW, my avatar is 'Dog' coincidence???) --Glaseye (talk) 16:55, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
No, I can not take credit for being brilliant only a fumbling dotard, but it is a good visual isn't it? Dollygirl patting Dog on the head and saying Good Doggie. The visual should be the other way. Dog patting Dollygirl on head saying Good girl! LOL--Dollygirl (talk) 19:51, 6 July 2020 (UTC)
THIS is your fault... LoL, you made me get Dog out of retirement... (Sorry, but I just couldn't resist!) --Glaseye (talk) 00:56, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
ROTFLMAO is all I can do. But wait she says this is coming! Goooood Dogie--Dollygirl (talk) 01:50, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
(Dog anxiously hiding behind the couch ...... LoL) BTW, I think you need to change the #100 in the code to, say, 999, for all the images to show. Now it caps at 100... --Glaseye (talk) 22:06, 7 July 2020 (UTC)
Depending on the code, it might be hard-capped at either 200 or 500 and the number we give it is only a smaller cap... I'll have to take a look some time. --Robkelk (talk) 12:11, 8 July 2020 (UTC)
Did a test, it capped at 500 --Glaseye (talk) 16:12, 8 July 2020 (UTC)

Teknology ... again[edit]

They moved to ... at the moment, the old links are still working, so I am not going through the links here (for the moment). Kerya (talk) 05:38, 28 July 2020 (UTC)

Again? I'm tempted to just link to their items in the Wayback Machine... and stop driving traffic to their online store. --Robkelk (talk) 12:29, 28 July 2020 (UTC)
And now those old links aren't working anymore ... I am not going through 117 links to correct them, just to have them moving again. Sorry!
Kerya (talk) 06:32, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
I just noticed that their links are "http:", not "https:" - this means that people's information is not encrypted when it's sent between their computers and the website. And that's not a good thing. I'll see what's available in the Wayback Machine. --Robkelk (talk) 14:45, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
First check - "Sherry Outfit V4". The only link in the Wayback Machine is to a page that lets one add the freebie to one's cart... and there are no shopping carts in the Wayback Machine. The plan that we can simply switch to static links at might not work very well... --Robkelk (talk) 14:52, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Going straight to consulting the list of pages that the Wayback Machine saved from shows that none of them are old enough to have direct download links. If Teknology3D wants working links here to drive traffic to their online store, they're going to have to come in and fix the links themselves -- I don't do "http:" on merchant sites. --Robkelk (talk) 15:13, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

Rollback by DollyGirl[edit]

I did a rollback on the page Hair/Hair Textures. The contributor had placed information here that should have been elsewhere. I have moved the information to more appropriate pages. refer to recent changes to see what I did. --Dollygirl (talk) 04:56, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

Thank you very much! I think they searched the wiki for the name and just added everything by that person ... ooops! Kerya (talk) 05:49, 1 August 2020 (UTC)
Your welcome. I had come to the same conclusion. --Dollygirl (talk) 06:00, 1 August 2020 (UTC)

"New" Japanese Figure ???[edit]

Any ideas which figure these items are for?

Her name seems to be カス子 (Not Safe For Work - may contain full nudity or intercourse - if you are using a shared computer, do not follow this link!)

Kerya (talk) 08:54, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Whatever it is for, it's not a Poser or DS compatible file format, so I wouldn't bother with it. --Glaseye (talk) 11:22, 12 August 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for taking a closer look - I downloaded one file, but only tried to read the readme. .tah: TAH file is a 3DCG Mod File. 3D Custom Girl (3DCG) is a game developed by TechArts3D for designing 3D models of female characters. Kerya (talk) 13:12, 12 August 2020 (UTC)

Wiki templates can now be edited only by administrators[edit]

We just had a recent bit of obscene vandalism. (I chose my words extremely carefully there - it was against not only our Terms of Service, but our host's Terms of Service as well. It it hadn't been for the fact that other wikis hosted by the same host were being vandalized in the same way at the same time, we could have had the wiki deleted. Out host was good enough to clean up the vandalism for us.) This particular vandalism used a new-to-me method of hitting multiple pages at once - edit templates that are used on multiple pages.

As a result of this, I have been forced to protect the templates. Not just the templates that were used in this attack - all templates on the wiki.

If a template needs to be updated, you will need to ask an administrator to make the changes.

--Robkelk (talk) 20:28, 15 August 2020 (UTC)

Can we still add ones we need?--Dollygirl (talk) 21:24, 15 August 2020 (UTC)
Ah, I was wondering why I did see so little 'Recent changes' listed; I guess this (the clean-up) explains it. It seems we have to be very vigilant even more --Glaseye (talk) 00:23, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
Great not that I plan on adding one but just in case. I will inform you when I make one. Thanks Rob.--Dollygirl (talk) 18:18, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
We can still add templates, yes. I recommend letting me know about new templates so that we can protect them.
Yes, the cleanup filled nine-tenths of a 100-item recent change log, and is displayed on less than a dozen lines. The change log is still there; you can see it if you set the number of changes to 250 or 500.
Also, assuming I've done the setting changes correctly, new users can no longer move (rename) pages or overwrite existing images. Confirmed users should still be able to do both of these actions. --Robkelk (talk) 00:27, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
Just tested whether I can move a page. I can... but I'm an admin. Somebody else needs to test whether folks who aren't admins can move pages, please. Pick a page, move it to a new name, and move it back, please. --Robkelk (talk) 00:37, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
I can move a page, so apparently it still works for confirmed users. --Glaseye (talk) 13:54, 16 August 2020 (UTC)
Thanks, Glaseye. Looks like I did it correctly. --Robkelk (talk) 16:49, 16 August 2020 (UTC)

Cosplay, but what/where?[edit]

It's a, maybe recognizable, Cyber Helmet which fits Michael 4 at default. There are also fit morphs for Apollo Maximus, Michael 3, and V4. There are also some adjustment morphs and some "expression" morphs. You'll have to toggle the target figure's head visibility to off otherwise there will be some poke through, mostly the nose. The Helmet might be useful beyond what its immediate appearance suggests.

Kerya (talk) 05:48, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Cyberman helmet from Doctor Who, in particular the version from the early seasons of the new (2005) series. AntonioCC (talk) 10:45, 12 September 2020 (UTC)
Thank you! Kerya (talk) 11:45, 12 September 2020 (UTC)

Check my reasoning, please[edit]

I don't want to list these if it will get the wiki into legal trouble... but I don't see any legal trouble here. I want opinions, please.

The Internet Archive has a small collection of images of 3D World cover DVDs (including issue 153 - the one with the first version of Victoria 5 on it).

I believe that the Internet Archive, in this case, is the equivalent of a lending library, and that it is legal to download and make use of these cover discs. Does anybody disagree?

--Robkelk (talk) 02:06, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

I honestly have no idea about the legality of this, but I wouldn't assume it to be legal just like that... The uploader's username doesn't indicate any connection with the magazine, and the uploads appear to have been done in a short time frame. Suggesting to me that someone just dumped them there. Apart from that dl are a torrent or an iso link (which I presume you mean with your reference to images - 'disc-images'); not DS or Poser compatibel formats (and not ones I personally would trust blindly). Add to that that Daz3D probably just licensed the magazine to distribute V5 on CD for its buying readers.... The license fee most likely will have been based on nr of CD's made. Just my 2 cents. --Glaseye (talk) 02:43, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
