Thank you for the new categories!

Thanks for adding all of those new categories - that should help people find freebies that they're looking for.

Here's something to consider: When I add categories to index pages, I put a sort key of a single space on the categories so that the indexes are sorted to the start of the category page. It's easy to do - at the end of the category tag, add a pipe character and a space (for example, "Category:Dollygirl| " instead of "Category:Dollygirl") It makes a big difference when a category has a large number of index pages, the way Category:Wardrobe does.

Your welcome Rob. But you were the one to identify the subcategories. I just took your idea and applied it. As you know I am a firm believer in auto-generating pages. Keeps you out of trouble but I also know that creating a new page can be a pita.

So what pages do I put the category coding in? Like the Wardrobe page? or on the individual product pages? or the category page? Not clear where this should go. How about an example you can point me to.--Dollygirl (talk) 18:15, 24 February 2017 (UTC)

When in doubt, add the category; we can always figure out what we want later and make changes. We aren't consistent for what we have, too - the rule for "historical" categories like Victorian and Renaissance‎ is to use the most narrow category only (16th century Crossbow Prop has category Renaissance‎ but doesn't have category Historical), but the rule for "wardrobe" categories like Glasses and Jewelry is to use the narrow category and the wider category (DAZ Eastern Dragon Spectacles has category Glasses and category Wardrobe). So we may as well add the categories everywhere that they apply until everybody decides how we want to use them. --Robkelk (talk) 15:25, 25 February 2017 (UTC)

PFDLives is closing

I'm adding this to the Talk pages of all active users, including myself. Since my Talk page has become the de facto chat page for the wiki, please reply there.

PFDLives has announced that they're most likely closing on August 1: http://pfdlives.com/pfd/index.php?topic=8235.0 - login required to view

Maybe, if they can get enough donations, they can remain open longer ... but the domain name is only registered until 2018.

This means all of the freebies on pfdlives.com will either be moving or disappearing. (Some of those freebies are listed here, but not all of them.)

Please, spread the word about this ... and help ensure that any freebie not behind a login is saved in the Wayback Machine.

It works!!!!! Yeah I have a sample on my sandbox page. The list starts off with a page that has not been created, Template:Extension DPL, is there a reason for this? Now to see if I can make a page that allows you to fill in the boxes to get a list of possible pages that are of interest. Thank you very much for getting the capability. Hi Dollygirl, I toyed around with this a while today, see: https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/User:3doutlaw/sandbox I was able to get a hair table (the middle table) that was the "AND" (or intersect) of Hair and Dawn (as a test) but there were two issues: (1) Since the description of the page is just tacked on after the Freebiebox and not indicated by a "Chapter" or heading, I could not get the description to be included cleanly as a table cell. This is not the end of the world, but maybe the Description should start having a heading, so that it can be called out dynamically? (2) There are a lot of Hairs on the Dawn/Hair page that are NOT part of the Dawn category. Since they were added manually to the Dawn/Hair page, as a Re-FIT, per the wording on the page. This means the "intersect" or "AND" of the two categories is less complete than the Dawn/Hair page itself. So instead of doing that, I needed to start with the Category of Hair and "intersect it with the "linksfrom=Dawn/Hair", which worked, but something to be aware of... --3doutlaw (talk) 19:02, 4 April 2018 (UTC)

I did a random drawing and came up with DivaMakeup as the real owner of my gift card.I took out all of images generated by Kerya and me. There were a total of 39 images left I pulled a number 8 and that was DivaMakeup's image https://poserdazfreebies.miraheze.org/wiki/File:Vest_and_Panties_for_Genesis_3_and_Genesis_8_Female.png. "Moderation" of posts - anti-spam

Hi Dollygirl!

You probably already notice the site message at the top of the page. I've given you Moderator rights - edits and image uploads from anybody who hasn't edited enough to be autopatrolled will show up at Special:Moderation instead of on the actual wiki pages until a moderator (you, Kerya, or me) approves them.

We don't get very many edits from people who haven't been autopatrolled, so this shouldn't be too much work.

Thank you Kerya for the help on the pages. Yesterday when I tried some of the wayback links it led me to GoDaddy which said the files were not available. Stupid me did not check all of the captures to see if there were some real download links so I am very glad that you were more diligent then me and now we have most of Dodger's stuff back on line. Yes it is very sad about loosing websites. I am still working on Cho's stuff. Have not heard back from her and her site is still down. She has hundreds of files. I finally have something. {{highlight|this text}} results in this text. The highlighting carries over to DPL results if the highlight is applied to something in a freebiebox. The downside is that you have to apply it to everything that you want highlighted. --Robkelk (talk) 20:03, 29 May 2021 (UTC)

I tried today to get the title from the freebie box to come over highlighted but it did not work. I changed the Pocket Pets - Kitty page title to highlighted and then I changed the dpl statement on the AnimalsGallery-Cats page to display the title under the image. The dpl did not pass the highlight feature through. The title came through but not the background color. I used %TITLE% as the parameter maybe I need to use a different one that will carry through the highlight condition. This is what I used to get the Title to show up «gallery»,\n:File:,¦link=[[%PAGE%¦%TITLE%]]¦%TITLE%\n,\n«/gallery» I added ¦%TITLE% right after the right square brackets. Did some research and found that you can change the color of the text but in our case we would need an if statement that would change the color of the caption. That is way above my pay grade.
