Style Guides[edit]

I think it would be a good idea to create style guides with information and examples of how to format different types of pages, guides to which templates to use where, etc. Having all the neccesary information in one place, or at least linked from one place, will lower the entry barrier for new editors and make it easier for more people to contribute, without the need to go through the (extensive) MediaWiki documentation to find look up the most common code or spend time searching our wiki for pages on which to model their pages or edits.--Fielran (talk) 19:26, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

I think this is an excellent idea. Does anyone have time to work on it? --Robkelk (talk) 13:12, 1 April 2016 (UTC)
I put together a rough draft of a dummy page for the themed pages (in my sandbox for the moment), but it's pretty heavily skewed towards the media-based pages I tend to work on. I think the best thing to do is get a WIP page up (for all the guidelines we're going to want, not just the one I did), then get people involved in a discussion. We could probably also do this in a message thread on the Daz forum, although that's a bit less open to contributions. I have a fair amount of free time for the present, so I'm willing to do a lot of the legwork as far as drafting things and setting up what needs to be discussed, but the process is going to involve a lot of at least preliminary decisions on what we want this wiki to become, longterm.--Fielran (talk) 00:26, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
