How do we want to sort the wardrobe?[edit]

There are (at least) three schools of thought for sorting wardrobe: by maker, by prop/figure type, or by what part of the body is covered.

  • When I started the wiki, I went with "what's covered" - tops, slacks/skirts/kilts, shoes/socks, one-piece/dresses, and so on. It made sense to me.
  • At least one other contributor likes type - conforming, dynamic, and hybrid.
  • We haven't had too much call to sort wardrobe by maker, even though this is how we're sorting hair. People appear to be less interested in whether something was made by Jan19 or Redviper or Mamota or Wilmap (for example) than in whether it's a conforming or dynamic, or whether it's a dress or a blouse (for example).

(There's also "sort by download source", but that's what the Freebie Sites pages are for.)

Of course, once we have individual pages for each freebie, we can sort them however we like... but that's in the long term.

Maybe by what's covered, then by type if the sections get large enough to warrant further division, at least on most pages. A few of the themed pages might be better served by character or character type groupings--it wouldn't make sense to group Ant-Man's helmet with Doctor Doom's mask, for example. Of course, pages with a small number of wardrobe items probably don't need to be sorted other than alphabetically until they get more items. --Fielran (talk) 21:34, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
Point taken. There is no "one size fits all" solution. --Robkelk (talk) 13:29, 28 June 2016 (UTC)
