This is the information sidebar template for individual resources.

  • The category "Resource needing license information" will be added to the page if a license is not specified.

Useful strings[edit]

These strings are often found in or near freebie boxes.

[edit]

The first version puts the "non-free content" logo on the page, exactly where the string is placed, and adds "Category:Non-free content" to the page. Use it when the main resource described on the page is not free.

{{NFC}}

The second version puts the "non-free content" logo on the page, exactly where the string is placed, but does not add "Category:Non-free content" to the page. Use it when the main resource described on the page is free, but something else listed on the page is not free; this should be a very rare occurrence.

The "No longer legally available" text[edit]

This puts the words "No longer legally available" on the page, exactly where the string is placed, and adds "Category:No Longer Available" to the page. Use it when the main resource described on the page is not available.

{{Unavailable}}

[edit]

This puts the "direct download" logo on the page, exactly where the string is placed. Use it when clicking on the link starts the download instead of taking the user to a product page.

{{Direct}}

External Links to Licenses[edit]

Everything that was listed here are now listed at Category:Licenses. When the list entry says "Template:NAME-OF-LICENSE", delete the word Template and the colon, and wrap NAME-OF-LICENSE in two sets of braces, like so: {{NAME-OF-LICENSE}}

A link to the license will appear where the link is placed on the page, and the vendor (or the equivalent, for freebie sites) will be added as a category to the page.

Creative Commons and GPL Licenses[edit]

Not a complete list of possible "copyleft" CC licenses, just the ones that we need so far. The NC licenses add Category:Non-commercial Use Only to the page that they're on.

Anything licensed under a ND ("no derivatives") license is unusable in 3D art, since the act of creating a 3D artwork involves using the elements in derivative works.

The "this page" Category[edit]

This "auto-magic" category makes the name of the page a category, and puts the page at the top of the list in that category. Each figure's main page should have this category.
