Welcome to the wiki![edit]

Thanks for taking a look at what we have to offer. You won't be able to add links until your account is confirmed, but I can do that if you leave a message on my talk page or send me an email. --Robkelk (talk) 02:33, 13 May 2017 (UTC)

Thank you![edit]

Thank you for taking the time to mark dead links! It is appreciated! Kerya (talk) 05:53, 22 January 2020 (UTC)

Could you mark dead links with the {{unavailable}} tag instead of commenting them out, please? You're lucky that I noticed this edit and was able to look for the resources in the Wayback Machine to confirm whether they were actually unavailable - if you don't use the template, I don't see them on the list of links to be checked. --Robkelk (talk) 12:20, 18 January 2023 (UTC)
I think Rob means the {{dead link}} template. Doing the unavailable template causes the whole page to go grey. But it seems to me that you have had a good handle on links for a while and what you are currently doing is correct because every time I see if the freebie is truely lost it is and you have correctly identified that the freebie is no longer available. However, Rob has instituted a new process with dealing with an unavailable link. That is we remove the line item out completely from the page. I would hesitate to do that because sometimes we find freebies for the freebie and that are still available, and it is nice if we can show people just what the required object is. But it is your call Rob. What do you want us to do?--Dollygirl (talk) 08:44, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
Yes, I meant the {{dead link}} template. (Maybe we have too many templates.) Sorry about that. As for commenting out or deleting, It seems to me to be rude to get people's hopes up and then tell them they can't have what they were looking for after all. We should discuss this... but not on JHVipond's user page. --Robkelk (talk) 13:41, 19 January 2023 (UTC)
