Welcome to the Wiki![edit]

Welcome to the Poser and Daz Studio Free Resources Wiki! I hope you'll find the contents useful.

If you haven't already read the wiki's "About" page, please do. It describes a fair bit about the wiki.

Please feel free to correct any errors you spot, or add new content to the wiki - although the wiki isn't just a link-dump; please provide some context for your additions.

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
For the substantial amount of good content you've added in the few days since you joined the wiki, I award you the Tireless Contributor Barnstar! Robkelk (talk) 01:07, 11 September 2014 (BST)
Awe! Thank you :) There's a LOT more to come. Hopefully you won't have to do much editing behind me. I hate making work for others.

--Wayii (talk) 08:20PM, 10 September 2014 (EST)

If I was picky about formatting, I wouldn't have said "I'm not a dictator" on my user page. 8) As long as the content is good, I'm happy. --Robkelk (talk) 01:54, 11 September 2014 (BST)

Breakneck Progress[edit]

As folk toiling on the Character category page may notice, the Nursoda area is filling in quickly on the shallow end of the information ladder.

I've gotten about three quarters of the way into getting each freebie-bearing character its own page with a good description, a serviceable image of the figure and a thorough listing of each figure's freebies and their links broken down by type. Formatting changes have slowed it down a little bit, but that hasn't been too taxing, all things considered.

The next informational tier down -- the pages for the freebies themselves is going to be the long haul part of the process. Some figures, like Brulba and Aina have already had this next tier of pages set up, each giving descriptions and images of the freebies themselves. It's going to be a real slog, as there are an impressive number of freebies involved and each one of them requires a write-up and a good render to represent it properly and make things more than Just Another Links Dump.

Wish me luck. --Wayii (talk) 01:02AM, 14 September 2014 (EST)

Fix for at least part of the current editing problem[edit]

If you haven't already, please turn on the "HHVM" beta feature. See here for how and why. We're still having trouble with images, but one step at a time... --Robkelk (talk) 14:06, 23 September 2014 (BST)

Thank you.  :) I saw your message about it, made that switch and got a handful of new freebies for Aina and Bong & Bonga up. --Wayii (talk) 12:31PM, 23 September 2014 (EST)

You should now have rollback rights[edit]

I've just given you "rollback" rights - this should let you revert a page to a previous version. We haven't had malicious spammers who replace existing pages with their text yet, but if we do, this lets you undo the damage with a couple of mouse clicks. Use this power wisely... --Robkelk (talk) 20:56, 17 November 2014 (GMT)

It also lets me mis-click away a ton of someone else's work accidentally. *sigh* Please tell me I fixed it right.----Wayii (talk) 04:42, 3 December 2014 (GMT)
All's good, no worries. --Robkelk (talk) 20:18, 3 December 2014 (GMT)

Can I ask you for $1?[edit]

We're 9 days into our 30 day campaign, and we've raised $537. That's fantastic! The idea of Orain, our message, our purpose - it means something. The belief that there can be a community led, a community ran, and a community funded website that's not ad-driven or profit based works.

Our community has believed in us from the beginning, and I firmly believe that our community will stand by us and continue to support us. It's okay if we don't reach our $5,000 goal. $5,000 was a best case scenario. $1,000 enables us to stay online another year. It enables us to keep looking at alternatives and other ways to stay online and cut costs. $500 halves that time and shortens our research ability. 11% of our goal is better than 0% of our goal.

I've made a pledge from the beginning. I've vowed to never force ads on this community for the purpose of keeping Orain alive. Ads are what separate us from the other farms we compete with. I will give my personal funds before I enable ads by force. Ads are a nuisance that you should have a voice in. We've toyed with and are developing the idea of individual wikis who want ads within their community. Some people can't donate a dollar, and that's okay. That's their way of giving and I'm down for that.

To the backers who have helped so far, Thank you!

If you haven't had a chance to donate so far, please please do. Your $1 will help make a difference in the WikiFarm world. You can help us stay online, free, and ad free.

If you have a little more than a dollar and want an Orain t-shirt, we've got those. We've also got hoodies, coffee cups, and blankets. Most of these things will have to be purchased in bulk so there's likely going to be an online store for the leftover donation drive items once the campaign is over.

As always, I want to hear from you. If you have ideas to help our Indiegogo campaign please send them to me or email me.

I apologize for spamming you like this, but I love Orain, I believe in Orain, and I want to fight to keep it alive. If you no longer want to receive urgent messages like these, please send me an email and I'll ensure that you're not bothered further.

With love,
Dustin "Dusti" Muniz

Please note that this is being sent cross-wiki, which means that you may receive this message on multiple talk pages if you have more than one active user talk page on Orain.

You've just been promoted to administrator[edit]

Because we just got carpet-bombed with spam, I need help cleaning up the mess, you know your way around a wiki, and only admins can delete pages. Congratulations.

See Special:UncategorizedPages for the list of what needs to be deleted. --Robkelk (talk) 01:13, 23 January 2015 (GMT)

Well THAT was certainly a big, irksome mess. Hacksaw applied, spam busted, spammers blocked. Back to the meat-sphere. ----Wayii (talk) 02:26, 23 January 2015 (GMT)
Thank you for the help. At least now I know how to use the "mass delete" function that's only available to admins. Now for the $64,000 question: do you want to keep the admin rights? (I was considering asking you whether you wanted the rights, then the spam-flood came through and I needed someone else to have the rights.) I'll take them back if you don't want them, but I'd much rather you keep them. --Robkelk (talk) 02:50, 23 January 2015 (GMT)
While I wasn't looking for the added responsibility (and ability to really kark stuff up) I can keep it if you feel it will be genuinely helpful. Let's see how it goes provisionally. If you end up revoking them it's all good and I won't get all butthurt about it. ----Wayii (talk) 02:57, 23 January 2015 (GMT)
If worse comes to worst, I know how to ask for the wiki to be restored from backups. Welcome to the admin team, population you, me, and a couple of guys from Orain. --Robkelk (talk) 03:00, 23 January 2015 (GMT)
